Swim Lessons 2011

As an high quality pool service organization, we provide your members with swimming lessons. Please note that we only teach swim lessons to members at pools or communities that are managed by SwimAtlanta. Our swim instructors will help participants gain self-confidence and satisfaction from learning to swim. We make learning to swim a lifetime of enjoyment! Our group classes have no more than six students to ensure they all receive the attention needed to have a positive swim lesson experience. We also offer private and semi-private lessons for more one-on-one instruction.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

The goal of our swim lessons is to teach participants to be safe when they are in, on, and around the water. At SwimAtlanta Pool Management-Gwinnett, children are rewarded with praise for a job well done. Children are encouraged to try new skills, but they are never forced to complete tasks they are not ready to do. We believe that with patience, positive encouragement, and frequent practice your child will have a happy, safe and successful swimming experience.

LESSON INFORMATION

Private Lessons:

Times and Dates are set to participant and instructor's availability.
One participant per instructor.
$30 per 30-minute lesson.
$180 for a session of eight 30-minute lessons.

Semi-Private Lessons:

Times and Dates are set to participants and instructor's availability.
Two participants per instructor.
$45 per 30-minute lesson ($22.50/student)
$270 for a session of eight 30-minute lessons.

Group Lessons:

Sessions are held Monday - Thursday for 2 weeks, a total of 8 classes will be held.
Each class is 30 minutes in length.
Times vary from location to location.
Maximum of 6 participants in group lessons, minimum of 3 participants.
$70 per participant per session.

The Group Swim Lesson Class Levels:

Beginner: For children from 3 to 5 years old who are unable to swim 10 feet unassisted. This class emphasizes water orientation, basic water safety and developing a comfort level with the water.
Intermediate: For children 3 to 5 years old who are comfortable in the water, can float with some assistance, and are ready to learn the basic skills for front crawl and backstroke. They can swim across the pool width with assistance/floatation device.
Advanced (Primary skills): The object of this course is to give students success with fundamental skills. Students learn to float without support and recover to a vertical position. This level marks the beginning of true locomotion skills. Can swim across pool width without assistance/flotation device.
Stroke Definition: Students must be comfortable in the water. Basic skills for front crawl, backstroke and diving are taught.
Stroke Development: Students must be able to swim a minimum of 35 feet of both beginner front crawl and backstroke. The object to this course is to develop confidence in skills learned thus far. The breaststroke, sidestroke, and the basics of turning at the wall are introduced.

HOW DO I REGISTER?

Register at the Pool! Just see your lifeguard to get a registration form. Complete the form and submit it along with payment to your lifeguard or pool manager. If your facility does not have a lifeguard or pool manager, please complete the form online or come by the SwimAtlanta office. Participants will receive a phone call from the instructor one week prior to the lesson start date. If you DO NOT receive a phone call from the instructor, please contact the SwimAtlanta office 678.985.4030.
