Doug has over 30 years of experience in the swimming pool management industry. He has been President of SwimAtlanta since 1996. He started working with SwimAtlanta Pool Management in the spring of 1984 as a Pool Manager. The next year he became a Regional Supervisor, and was promoted to Vice President in 1987. Doug has been a Certified Pool Operator since 1985, is a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer for the American Red Cross, and a Lifeguard Training and CPR and First Aid Instructor.  Doug graduated from Maryville College in 1983 with a degree in business, and played basketball for the Maryville College team. Doug is a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training Institute and has completed the APSP Tech Certification. He is married and has two sons.

SwimAtlanta Pool Management - Gwinnett  provides pool management, lifeguard staffing services and pool maintenance services across greater Gwinnett.   

We operate in the following areas: Duluth, Suwanee, Norcross, Lawrenceville, Dacula, Tucker, Gainesville and surrounding areas. 

Melissa Raines

Melissa is a 2015 graduate of the University of Georgia where she majored in Social Studies Education and International Affairs. In 2019, she received her Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Clemson University. Melissa started working with SwimAtlanta Pool Management in the Roswell office as a lifeguard and pool manager and continued to work in many other positions throughout her time in college and graduate school. Upon graduating and after working in the education field for 6 years, Melissa re-joined the SwimAtlanta team as a Staffing Director for SwimAtlanta Pool Management Gwinnett.  

Chad Wyatt 
Regional Director

Chad Wyatt has 20 plus years of Lifeguarding and swim instructor experience as well as 15 plus years of pool management experience. He has been a CPO, and LGI for 20 years and was a certified Personal trainer for 5 years before moving to Atlanta. Throughout his aquatics career he has been a Waterfront director for a YMCA camp, as well as an aquatics director for the YMCA. He did Ocean Rescue for Lacks Beach Service, and the City Of North Myrtle Beach. While with the City Of North Myrtle Beach he won the Award for Outstanding Commitment and Performance to Ocean Rescue logging over 120 rescues on one of the most dangerous areas along the South Carolina coast. In between working in ocean rescue he took a year off to lifeguard on Lake Eerie in Ohio. In 2014 he moved to Charleston SC and started working for The City Of Charleston as a Supervisor for the 4 city pools and won the Employee of the Year award and was given a proclamation by Mayor John Tecklenburg. In 2016 he married his wife Megan and now has a son who is 3 months old named Oliver.

Frank DeSantis

Frank DeSantis, has over 30 years’ experience in the aquatics industry, both in management and construction.  He began in 1984 with pool management in the Washington D.C. Metro area which included maintenance operations for the City of Gaithersburg’s aquatics department, where he oversaw the daily maintenance and mechanical operation of their water park and indoor facilities.  In 2001 he made the move to the Atlanta area and settled into residential and commercial pool construction and management.  He has built pools throughout the southeast as well as completing Mrytha Pools, builders training in Milano, Italy.  He has settled into the Decatur area and is married with two daughters.

Our Safety Advisors

As part of The Pool Management Group network, our customers and employees receive the expertise of our internationally renowned Safety Advisors, Dr. Tom Griffiths and the team at Aquatic Safety Research Group. Their expertise is instilled throughout our risk reduction techniques and lifeguard training.  

Dr. Griffiths was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame and is a Paragon Safety Award winner for his water safety efforts. He has been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association Distinguished Aquatic Service Award for a lifetime achievement and designated a European Lifeguard Academy Friend of the Academy for significant contributions to preventive Lifeguarding. Dr. Griffiths has also been named to  “Who’s Who in Aquatics- The Top 100”, and “Power 25- Top 25 most powerful aquatics professionals in the World”, by Aquatics International Magazine.

Dr. Griffiths has authored more than 300 papers that have been published in scientific, professional and popular journals. He is an external reviewer for the American Red Cross Swimming and Diving publications.

Our parent company, The Pool Management Group, and the 16 other companies in The Pool Management Group support SwimAtlanta Pool Management - Gwinnett in our operations. In fact, the employees at headquarters don't run any pools directly. Instead, they're solely dedicated to assisting the various locations in our family of companies.
